Results and future developments of a research projects In codice ratio dedicated to develop innovative methodologies and tools for the analysis and study of manuscript sources, in particular of the Roman medieval documentation (pontifical registers and private charters). Techniques, approaches and new research paths (in particular, one dedicated to explainability) are described, with the aim of consolidating an effective synergy between computer engineers and historians of manuscript sources.
